O endereço será no Boston City Hall – Iannella Chamber, 5th floor.

Carta-convite

A seguir, a carta-convite enviada pela Conselheira Michelle Wu, do Conselho Municipal de Boston:

“Please join me next Thursday October 27 at 3PM to testify in support of creating a “Boston OneCard” municipal ID for the City of Boston. The hearing will take place in the Iannella Chamber on the 5th floor of Boston City Hall.

The goal of creating a municipal ID is to remove roadblocks to services for more than 140,000 residents who lack photo ID, including undocumented immigrants, people experiencing homelessness, and the transgender community. The OneCard will improve access to critical health, safety, and financial services for all residents. It could also streamline access to city services by combining MBTA, library card, and school ID functions.

Similar local ID programs have been successfully implemented in other municipalities such as New York City, San Francisco, and Newark. It’s time we bring this inclusive program to Boston.

For more information, please find the hearing order and flyer attached. If you are unable to testify in person, you can also send an email testimony to [email protected]. Feel free to reach out to my office at 617-635-3115 if you have any questions.

Thank you in advance for your support!
