Steps to obtain the RER
- Access to the electronic form: The applicant must access the form available on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Federal Police. - Finalizing and printing the RER: Once the form has been filled out completely, the system will generate the RER, which must be printed, signed in the indicated field and, in some cases, have a recent photograph pasted in the appropriate space. It is important not to crop the photograph, even if it does not fit perfectly in the indicated space.

- Signature: The signature on the RER must be identical to that on the identification documents presented. For children under 12 years of age, a signature is generally not required; in this case, the parent or guardian must sign on behalf of the child.
- Additional documentation: In addition to the RER, it is necessary to present documents such as a birth or marriage certificate, photo ID, CPF, proof of electoral discharge (for those over 18 years of age) and, for men between 18 and 45 years of age, a military document.
